Angel J. Mulkay, MD, is board certified in cardiovascular medicine. Dr. Mulkay founded Mulkay Cardiology Consultants more than a decade ago and has recently established the Hackensack Interventional Institute. He is also co-founder of Hackensack Vein Center, which offers state-of-the-art laser therapy for venous diseases. Dr. Mulkay specializes in interventional cardiology and preripheral interventions.
Dr. Mulkay is Director of Holy Name Medical Center’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He has paved the way in Bergen County for performing radial arterial catheterization. A leader in the field, Dr. Mulkay is involved in numerous national and international research studies and has also authored various medical journal articles.
Dr. Mulkay earned his medical doctorate degree from the Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic. He completed his residency and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center of New York and New York College.
Dr. Mulkay is a member of the American Medical Association, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Scott D. Ruffo, MD

Scott D. Ruffo, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular diseases, clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and internal medicine. Dr. Ruffo is a specialist in cardiac electrophysiology as well as placement of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators, with a special emphasis on heart failure and cardiac resynchronization therapy using bi-ventricular pacing systems. At the forefront of cardiovascular health, Dr. Ruffo is involved with various research protocols. Dr. Ruffo is co-founder of Hackensack Vein Center, offering state-of-the-art laser therapy for venous diseases.
Dr. Ruffo earned his medical doctorate from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine, fellowship in cardiovascular diseases, and a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the New York University Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital Center. During this time, Dr. Ruffo was a teaching assistant at the Medical Center. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and graduated cum laude.
Dr. Ruffo is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the Heart Rhythm Society.
Soo Mi Park, MD

Soo Mi Park, MD, is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. She is a diplomate in adult comprehensive echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Park has a special interest in women’s health, primary prevention and lipidology.
Dr. Park earned her medical degree from Columbia University. While there she received the Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Park completed a residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital and a fellowship in cardiology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. An avid scholar, Dr. Park graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree from Yale University.
Through the years, Dr. Park has been published in various medical journals and has participated in numerous research studies.
Dr. Park is fluent in Korean.
Michael B. Cohen, MD

Michael B. Cohen, MD is board certified in cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine. Dr. Cohen is an interventional cardiologist with a special interest in radial coronary interventions, percutaneous peripheral interventions, and lipidology.
Dr. Cohen earned his medical degree from the University of Miami. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Cohen subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, Florida and a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia.
At the forefront of interventional cardiology, Dr. Cohen is a participant in various research protocols and has authored many medical journal articles. He is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Cardiology.
Joseph Yu, MD

Joseph C. Yu, MD, FACC, is an interventional cardiologist, cardiologist and internist with practices in Paramus, Union City and Hackensack. He is a diplomate in Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography and certified by the Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Yu provides personalized, advanced treatment to all his patients and is dedicated to cardiovascular research involving the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease. He has numerous publications in the field.
Dr. Yu earned his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Brown University and a fellowship in cardiology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City, completing his final fellowship year as Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Yu then completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at New York University School of Medicine. He is a member of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Yu is fluent in Korean and Spanish.

Maryeth Herrera, APN, is a nurse practitioner with a special interest in cardiology, lipidology, and gerontology. She is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in primary care. Trauma-certified by the Emergency Nurse Association, Ms. Herrera has extensive experience in the medical field including cardiology, acute care, emergency medicine and trauma.
Ms. Herrera received her bachelor of science in nursing from Felician College and earned a master of science and completed post-graduate training at Fairleigh Dickinson University. An avid scholar, Ms. Herrera was inducted into Magna Cum Laude and Sigma Theta Tau International.
Ms. Herrera is fluent in Spanish.

Reynaldo Pella, APN, CEN, is a cardiovascular nurse practitioner with an extensive background in the medical field. Emergency-certified by the New Jersey Board of Nursing, Mr. Pella has over 26 years of nursing experience with a special interest in cardiology and emergency medicine.
Mr. Pella retired honorably from the United States Naval Reserves, Nurse Corps as a full Commander after 21 years of service with deployments in support of Operation Desert Storm/ Desert Shield and Operation Enduring Freedom.
Mr. Pella earned his nursing diploma from Christ Hospital School of Nursing and his bachelor of science in nursing from Thomas Edison State College. He earned a master’s degree in advance practice nursing at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Mr. Pella is fluent in Spanish.
